The Challenge
Shluhot Carrot from Kibbutz Shluhot in the Valleys region grows and processes carrots for Israel’s food retail chains. But like every farmer, they face a frustrating reality: peels, damaged carrot pieces, and carrots that don’t meet retail beauty standards. Massive quantities of quality waste is lost.
The Innovation
We decided to rewrite the rules. Instead of discarding, we created the world’s first healthy marshmallow – containing 92% vegetables and fruits, with no added sugar or preservatives, that tastes even better than traditional marshmallows. Through research and creative thinking, we achieved a technological breakthrough and reinvented the marshmallow – a product typically loaded with sugar became completely naturally sweet. And yes, it passes the campfire test with flying colors!
This innovative development transformed agricultural waste into a sought-after product, solving an environmental problem while creating an entirely new category of healthy treats. The product launches on shelves soon!
