Kodkod, the Israeli game company that created the legendary Rummikub sold successfully worldwide for many years, came to us with an interesting challenge: how to refresh a successful product without damaging what makes it special? The mission was clear – attract the new generation seeking fast, engaging games while preserving the magic of the original.

The Innovation

We developed Rummikub TWIST for Kodkod – a refreshing version with 3 new, surprising jokers that create a dynamic, constantly renewing gameplay experience each round—exactly what the younger generation is looking for. We also added contemporary design and tiles manufactured with 50% less plastic, a solution that makes the game more environmentally friendly and significantly improves production profitability. Rummikub TWIST was selected as one of the top ten games in Germany and boosted sales of this timeless classic. Even a classic flagship product can be reinvented to generate new revenue!
