The Challenge
Cohen Farm from the Valleys region has been growing quality herbs – thyme, rosemary, and basil – for generations, but faced a challenge every farmer knows: how to compete with growers in Africa and worldwide. They sought a growth engine that would provide an additional revenue stream, generating consistent year-round income with high profitability.
The Innovation
We identified a golden opportunity for Cohen Farm in the alcoholic beverage category – a sector suffering from exactly the problems we can solve! Herbs in this category serve as decoration and flavor/aroma enhancers, but they blacken and wilt quickly, are problematic for shipping, and the category was thirsty for innovation and fresh, new serving experiences.
The product we developed is patent-protected jelly cubes based on extracts from Cohen Farm’s quality herbs. The cubes give drinks great flavor, are easy to ship and store and create a unique drinking experience, leaving a delightful bite of flavors at the end of the drink.
This new product creates an entirely new serving experience in the beverage world and opens new markets and opportunities for Cohen Farm. The basil extract is already selling successfully to beverage companies worldwide, and the potential is promising!
